Legacy of the Wolf Spirits
Prologue
In the beginning of time, there were animals and people that lived in peace and harmony on Earth. The people eventually became a Tribe of Native Americans, called the JoSinh. Soon there was another Tribe called the Kanoen. The first people had such a strong Bond with animals, that they were able to find inner peace, and with inner peace, the people were able to shape-shift  into their animal friends. Unfortunately, where there is light and happiness, there is always darkness in the midst. The Kanoen saw this ability of shape shifting as a tool to gain power. The Kanoen began to use shape shifting with greed in their hearts. The JoSinh saw in horror as the Kanoen used shape shifting with greed. The JoSinh soon went to war against the Kanoen. It was a close loss for the JoSinh , but they were able to keep the Kanoen at bay. Now that the horrible sin from the Kanoen had been made, there was forever darkness and greed in the world.
Chapter 1: Present Time
We find our story today in present day. In a Town called Kanpshier. "Kanawoa!!" hollers a 15 year old girl. "What is it Geonja?" replied Kanawoa.
"Where is Jonisko?" asked Geonja.  "Probably burning off some steam the way we're not suppose to." said Kanawoa. " What!! That overconfident doofus." Geonja teased. Kanawoa was the same age as Geonja and Jonisko. She had brown, short, wavy hair and green eyes but, none of her friends or her were popular or down casts, basically Limbo. Geonja was a girl with long brown hair  and Violet eyes. She had a fierce personality and always stood up for anyone who needed help. They found Jonisko on the empty track, as a wolf. "Thank goodness there aren't any other kids around here or else we'll blow our entire Ancestral legacy!" sighed Kanawoa. " Don't worry, we'll just have to keep a sharp eye on Jonisko." replied Geonja. Jonisko was a free-spirited boy with blonde, short hair, and blue eyes. Jonisko is also a very outgoing person who loves to have fun and would leap into battle to save the innocent. So the three, Kanawoa, the leader and the clever one. Geonja, the agile and skillful hunter with a heart of freedom. And Jonisko, The Strongest of the strong, and also cunning.
" I hope it's not Banelo who's bothering him again." muttered Kanawoa. "If it is, I say we go beat him to a pulp!" growled Geonja. " No. We cannot butt in Jonisko's own problems, unless he asks us." Kanawoa replies smoothly. "Your probably right," Geonja muttered as she began to sit in the grass. Kanawoa began to sit down also and as she did, Jonisko noticed them and shape-shifted back to human. "Oh, hey guys I didn't see ya there." Jonisko said happily. " What are you thinking shape shifting in public like that." Geonja said as kind and softly as she could. "Sorry, it's just so nice to run with the wind against my face." replied Jonisko truthfully. 'So he wasn't angry about Banelo!' thought Kanawoa. "Okay, but be careful next time please." Kanawoa replied. "We better get to class, or we'll be late. It's hard to believe we're in 8th grade!" Geonja said cheerfully. "How time flies by." said Jonisko optimistically. They then ran to class to start another day of learning.
Chapter 2: Enemy Confrontation Part One
The next day was Saturday, Jonisko, Kanawoa, and Geonja were acting very serious and preparing for tonight. Recently, a few of Kanoen people have been sneaking around the JoSinh territory, possibly searching for something. The JoSinh had made a pact with the Military base that they would protect the land, in exchange the Military would keep the Tribe secrets a secret. Kanoen have been roaming the Base in secret, but the JoSinh caught on immediately and tonight they planned to make their move on these intruders. "This is an outrage," Jonisko muttered under his breath. "The Kanoen should know better than to mess with us." Jonisko also said."I'm going to have to agree with you on that." Geonja replied coldly. "Enough! We need to be quiet, or else we won't catch them." Kanawoa said with an angry sigh. "Sorry." Jonisko and Geonja said. "Stay low, we don't wan't them to catch us while in the process of an ambush." Kanawoa said with a warning tone. All of a sudden they heard rustling in the bush, the three of them suppressed a defensive growl ready to strike. Out came from the bushes was non other than a rabbit named Fenwa. "You startled us Fenwa! What are you doing here?" Geonja asked. "Oh Thank Goodness!!! I was hoping I would find some JoSinh wolves around here quick!!" Fenwa said relieved. "Why? Whats wrong?" asked Jonisko. "Some Kanoen wolves are here in this military territory where they don't belong, they saw me and thought of me as a nice juicy snack and I ran for my life!!" Fenwa said remembering the horrifying Kanoen wolves that could have ate him. "Aha!! Just as we expected and were looking forward to!!" Kanawoa said glad this wasn't going to be a unsuccessful mission. "What? You wanted me to be eaten and you expected it!??!" Fenwa said worriedly. "No, ya silly fur-ball! We have been expecting the Kanoen invading this territory, and have come to stop them. And now they are gonna get a real good beaten for trying to eat one of our dear friends!!" Geonja said furiously scratching a tree with her claws. "Where exactly did you last see them?" asked Jonisko. "Hmm, lets see... I think by the outskirts of the dormitories of the military men, searching the trash. They might have gone back there after chasing me." Fenwa said hoping to be of use to them. "Great, thank you Fenwa we will be taking our leave now." replied Kanawoa as she dipped her head towards Fenwa. Jonisko and Geonja did the same and the three immediately raced across the base.
Chapter 3: Enemy Confrontation Part Two
As the trio came to the thick bushes of the forest part of the base, they began to creep stealthily around searching for the intruders. Geonja's ears perked up from a slight rustle on her left side a few feet away. She didn't want to make a sound by alerting her friends for it might scare the sound away. So she went alone, she peeked through a bush and to her shock found three Kanoen wolves, but one of them was strikingly familiar, his scent was also. She also noticed Banelo and a female wolf named Balava. As Geonja began to back up, she stepped on a twig. 'Shoot! There goes my cover!! ' Geonja thought to herself. The three Kanoen wolves immediately charged at Geonja. Shocked and a bit fear stricken, Geonja didn't move. "Grrraaaaaaagh!!!" Geonja mustered out painfully as all three attacked her at once. 'Three against one!? So unfair! Typical Kanoen Wolves! ' Geonja thought angrily. About a mile away Kanawoa and Jonisko's ears perked up from the sound of a familiar voice, but in pain. Kanawoa looked worriedly towards Jonisko, they quickly raced across the base ready for anything. Geonja was flung by the somewhat familiar wolf and slammed against a tree. "You ain't stoppin us from trespassing! We can take you on easily, after all there's only one of you and three of us!" Banelo said with scorn and taunting in his voice. Banelo lunged at Geonja and  bit her forehead, his jaws started to sink in and Geonja howled in pain as blood trickled down her face, matting her fur. Just in the nic of time, Jonisko and Kanawoa arrived before Banelo could finish Geonja by breaking her skull. "HEY!! You leave MY Friend out of our fights!!" Jonisko shouted with rage of booming thunder. The fight began, Geonja lay where she was still stunned on what just happened, blood still trickling from her forehead. Banelo and Jonisko engaged in full combat, clawing and biting each other leaving wounds with a bit blood. Balava retreated when the battle began since she didn't know how to fight yet. Kanawoa was fighting like twenty wolves at once towards the somewhat familiar wolf. Banelo gave up and retreated. The familiar wolf soon retreated yipping in pain. Geonja had already slowly began to sit up wincing at the pain. But she then collapsed and began to black out, "Geonja are you alright? Come on stay with us, just hang in there!"  Kanawoa and Jonisko said but it all sounded distorted to Geonja and she blacked out.
Chapter 4: Afterwards
Geonja awoke at home, in her bed as human. She felt something wrapped around her head. She noticed she had bandages around the top of her head. "I can't believe that I just froze in the middle of a battle! I'm so ashamed, how useless am I!?" She muttered under her breath. Geonja went down stairs and found a note in the kitchen on the counter.
'Geonja I'll be gone on a business trip four countries  away. It  will be ten days till I come home, you know what to do when I'm gone this long.'
Love Mom.
Geonja let out an exasperated sigh. Geonja began thinking to herself, about those Kanoen. What were they up to? What did it have to do with the Military Base, and mostly she thought of that familiar wolf. Geonja wanted to know who this Kanoen wolf was and why he seemed so familiar. She decided to eat her breakfast and plan a visit to the Kanoen by herself after lunch. Afternoon soon came, and Geonja quickly ate her lunch. 'I better hurry and leave, I don't want my friends knowing where I'm going.' Geonja thought to herself. Geonja went outside and began to head towards  the forest, as she was out of human sight, she shape-shifted as a wolf. She walked with her head a bit high, and walked with no fear as she came to the border of Kanoen territory. "Halt!" yelled a border patrolling wolf. "I have come to speak with your leader, Kane." Geonja replied smoothly. "What if you are planning to..." the patroller said coldly but was interrupted. "You don't see or smell any other wolves with me do you? I come in peace and do not wish to fight your pack." Geonja said with annoyance. "Well how bout if I don't and just attack you and get rid of you instead?" the patroller sneered. "Don't. If she wants to see our leader, she can. Do you want us to look bad? Being looked at as just mindless killers? Well if you want that your gonna get punished harshly." said the second patroller sternly. "Humph, fine then, follow us." said the first patroller annoyed. Geonja finally, for the first time, stepped across the border into Kanoen territory. She kept her cool though. "Come on, we'll take you to Kane! Humph." said the first patroller unpleased.
Chapter 5: Behind Enemy Lines
Geonja walked proudly but, showed a little respect for she was in Kanoen territory. The guards happened to be Bedwyr and Olcan. Geonja sniffed the air and smelled the stench of Kanoen wolves. They passed an arched tree leading into the bramble made tunnel into the Kanoen camp. 'Here goes, I never  thought I would go into Kanoen territory alone but here I am!' Geonja thought to herself. She quickly looked around as she walked along with Olcan and Bedwyr, she was looking for the familiar wolf. The real reason why Geonja went alone into their territory was to see that familiar wolf after all. The Kanoen pack glared at her as she walked past them. She noticed that Balava was the most angry looking wolf around. Balava's pelt was a little hot with embarrassment after fleeing from battle before. She spotted the familiar wolf behind everyone with sadness in his eyes, this confused Geonja a bit. "Well well well. What do we have here? Have you come to join our worthy pack?" Kane the Kanoen leader said smoothly. "*SCOFF* No, I've come to speak with you privately. To discuss what happened in JoSinh territory." Geonja replied briskly. "Very well, Olcan, Bedwyr you don't need to guard her, we shall discuss matters in my den." Kane said boldly. Geonja hopped up the rocks to Kane's den, and entered. "Well what is it that you want JoSinh wolf." Kane said with a bit of mockery in his voice. Geonja ignored his tone and kept her cool. "It just so happens that three of your pack-mates invaded our Military territory and leaving the result of the reason why there are bandages on my head." Geonja said with a bit of ice in her tone of voice. "Hmm......Which pack-mates of mine?" Kane asked with a bit of curiosity. "Banelo, Balava, and someone I'm not sure who their name is." Geonja said. "Look outside my den and tell me if you see who it was." Kane said with hostility. Geonja looked outside of the den and saw the familiar wolf. "Him. The grey wolf over by those sunbathing stones." Geonja ushered with her muzzle towards the direction she was talking about. "Ah, you must mean Talon, he's almost a senior pack member." Kane said with some pride. "Tell me, do your pack-mates know your here?" Kane asked curiously. Geonja hesitated. "........No, I didn't want to look like a threat."  Geonja said half truthfully.  "Hmm... I see, well if that is all I shall have Banelo and Talon escort you back to the border." Kane said purposely setting her up to be near the one who attacked her. 'I hope Kanawoa and Jonisko aren't anywhere near the border.'  Geonja thought worriedly. "Banelo, Talon, you are to escort her back to the border." Kane ordered. Banelo and Talon dipped their heads towards Kane and began to lead Geonja outside of the bramble entrance. Banelo took the lead as Talon stayed back. Geonja looked curiously at Talon, wondering why he was so familiar. Talon noticed this and gave her an understanding look and a bit of warmth like a relative would to one of their kin. Geonja now felt even more confused. As they neared the border, Geonja tripped on a stump and began to fall, just as she was about to hit the ground, Banelo quickly lowered his head under her chin to make the landing soft in case Talon didn't catch her. Talon grabbed her by the scruff and stood her up on her paws. "Than-thank you." Geonja stuttered. She was shocked that these two wolves helped her, even Banelo! "I'm gonna say it, I'm terribly sorry for attacking you, and invading your territory." Talon spoke with honesty. "I'm truly sorry for hurting you that badly. I didn't mean to leave an injury." Banelo apologized. "Well....I don't like to leave grudges so I forgive you but, I'm in your territory, I should be respecting you." Geonja responded. The three reached the border. "Banelo you head on back, I'll make sure she leaves." Talon told Banelo. "Ok." Banelo simply responded and left. "I need to get this off my pelt but, for some reason you're so familiar, but why?" Geonja bursted. Talon softly chuckled. "I can't believe that you might possibly remember me. Ask your mother, Denali, about Talon, me, if she doesn't there is a place where no pack has claimed for territory that I can meet you there tomorrow." Talon said softly, with a tone as sweet as honey. "Ok, I guess" Geonja said. 'I'll meet him tomorrow since Mom isn't home.'  Geonja thought as she raced into JoSinh territory back home. It was practically dinner time. As she came to her house, she transformed as her human self and entered her home. Geonja was tired so she quickly ate two pb&j sandwiches for dinner and went to bed. 'I wonder what Talon's gonna tell me.'  Geonja thought as she drifted to sleep.
Chapter 6: The Hidden Secret Revealed
The sun awoke from it's slumber, rising above the hills in the distance. To be greeted with the chittering of all kinds of breeds of birds singing their own tune. Geonja awoke from her slumber as well. 'KNOCK, KNOCK' Came from the door. Geonja shook herself awake and ran to the door. "Geonja where were you yesterday?" Kanawoa asked as she opened the door. "Yeah, we couldn't find you or scent you at all." Jonisko added. "Oh, I went out of Town for the day but, got lost and ended up stuck on the bus." Geonja lied. "Oh....... well are you doing anything today?" Kanawoa asked curiously. "Well ummm I............guess yeah but, I wanted to have some alone time today, I have a lot on my mind." Geonja replied with a hint of nervousness. "Oh, okay well then, I guess we'll go on home, you'll be alright here by yourself?" Jonisko asked. "Well obviously yeah, after all, I survived last night." Geonja retorted in a joking matter. "Bye Geonja, see ya later." Kanawoa said as her and Jonisko waved goodbye and left. Geonja watched them as they strode down the sidewalk, out of sight then transformed and exited the back door of the house and scampered into the forest. She entered a thicket and came to the top of a ravine. She ran along the edge of the ravine, something about this ravine always seemed to stir something in Geonja, at the end was the unclaimed territory, it was an arched tree shaped like the entrance to a den and had Wisteria growing around the tree arch. It was beautiful. Geonja entered the territory and found Talon resting on a little patch of earth with a tree so vibrant and shady, surrounded by a little stream of water leading to a pool of water and above it was a small waterfall that had a cliff in the middle of the waterfall, untouched by the spraying water. There was also many beautiful flowers, and the sun shining on this land. It was the most beautiful place Geonja had ever seen, it was truly a sight to behold. "Welcome Geonja. I like to come here and rest once and awhile." Talon said with the most kindest voice Geonja ever heard. "This place..... it's so beautiful!!!" Geonja spoke breathlessly. "I couldn't agree with you anymore." Talon spoke softly. "There was something you were going to tell me... may I hear what you have to say?"Geonja asked urging him to respond. Talon sighed softly. "Come sit with me under the Willow Tree." Talon spoke with a voice of a wise man with more knowledge than anybody on the earth. Geonja hopped over the stream and landed delicately on the soft grass next to Talon. She sat next to him under the shady Willow Tree.
"You see my dear Geonja... I played a very important role in your early pup years. It led you to where you are now. Geonja... I'm your Uncle." Talon again spoke with the voice of a wise man.
"...What? How.. is that possible?!" Geonja sprung up, confused.
"Please sit. It's a lot to take in, that is why I asked you to sit." Talon urged her to sit. Geonja clumsily sat down, still in a bit of shock.
"D-does my mother know?" Geonja asked nervously.
"Yes as a matter of fact she does. There is more I need to tell you. Do you think you can handle it?" Talon asked as he stretched and laid back down. Geonja thought for a moment, thinking if she could comprehend more, she nodded and laid back down as well.
"Well it all started before you were born, your mother, Denali, encountered my brother, Braig, one day at the market in town. I guess they fell in love. Braig had told me all about their day together. I was a little happy and worried. After all, they both were from different Tribes. They began to meet each other a lot and then a few months later you were born with Tomner and Skai, they were your siblings. But Braig... something changed in him, almost as if the greed in him lit up and he kidnapped you and your siblings. I don't think it was greed that poisoned your father, it might have been the fact that at the time Kanoen were running out of newborns and members. I told Braig that he should have never taken pups from their mother, I was furious and we fought for a few moments, leaving a scar on the back of my ear. That next morning, I secretly met your mother and told her the situation. She was furious and she asked for my help and of course I helped. That night, there was a small blizzard, you were the youngest so I carried you as Tomner and Skai trailed behind us. I made plans to meet your mother at the border with you and your siblings. As we came in view of the border, Denali rushed towards us but, out of nowhere Braig leaped and grabbed your siblings and threw them behind him on the edge of a cliff. He lunged at me ready to grab you but, I turned and he sank his jaw into my back leg and the earth began to crumble. Denali quickly grabbed you but, saw in horror as your siblings plummeted to their death. Denali then tried to help me up, she nipped at Braig and he plunged to the bottom of the ravine. I looked down as he fell and saw regret in his eyes.Your mother was in so much grief but, pulled herself together, knowing that she still had you. I apologized for not being able to save your siblings, she forgave me. Every night I relive that horrible memory in my dreams, wishing that I could have done something." Talon said solemnly. Geonja's eyes were wide with shock.
"So I actually had a father and siblings... why didn't my mother ever tell me?..." Geonja whispered sadly.
"I'm not sure, it's possible that she hates reliving it, like I do." Talon spoke calmly. "It's almost dark, you should head home now. If you want I can take you home." Talon rose up.
"No thanks... Uncle." Geonja said with a soft smile.Talon softly chuckled.
"Well goodbye my dear niece." Talon said proudly. Geonja scampered home but, slowed down and gazed down at the ravine. Talon's words echoed, "...as Tomner and Skai plummeted to their death..." she shook her head.
'I can't wait till mother comes home from Tolina.' Geonja thought. As she arrived home, she wondered if it was against the Tribe code to visit other Tribe members in unclaimed territory. She shape-shifted to human form and drowsily went to bed and drifted to sleep.
Chapter 7: The Hunt
As the next day came, Geonja, Kanawoa, and Jonisko arrived at their Tribe's Camp. From a den that led to a Leader's perch on boulders, was Albanar, sitting high with pride of his strong tribe. "Anir, Nootka, Faran, and Kanawoa, I would like for you four to go on a hunting party." Albanar spoke with a strong clear voice. "Well I'll see you guys later." Kanawoa said and rushed off with the rest of the hunting party. "Hey! Geonja! Would you and Jonisko mind collecting some herbs for our medical stock?" Blaise, the Healer of the JoSinh Tribe asked. "Sure thing Dad, anything in particular?" Jonisko asked politely. "Hmm... mint, thyme, and parsley." Blaise said as he checked his stock of herbs. "Alright then, lets go!" Geonja beamed and raced out of Camp with Jonisko at her heels. "Look, there's a ton of mint and thyme, but I'm not sure parsley grows in the forest." Jonisko spoke with uncertainty. "Don't worry, I grow parsley in my yard. I can get some there." Geonja said reassuringly. "Well then, I'll just collect this mint and thyme while you go get some parsley." Jonisko replied calmly. Jonisko carefully plucked some mint and thyme and placed them in two separate bag shaped leafs and wrapped them up and headed back to camp. Geonja raced to her backyard and carefully plucked the parsley from it's roots but, left some to regrow. She trotted back towards camp, just as she neared camp, she heard a whimper. Geonja paused and then carefully placed the parsley between the roots of a tree and cautiously walked towards the sound. She peered through the bushes and was amazed to find a light-blue fox, who looked to be in his teen years. The whimpers had changed to sobs and chokes of tears. "E-excuse me, are you alright?" Geonja asked as she cautiously walked out from the bushes, her eyes round and filled with concern. The Fox flinched and stopped crying and noticed who spoke to him and began to back up against a tree, his eyes filled with fear. "Wha-what do you want from me? Are you gonna kill me too?" the Fox said choked back with tears and a hint of fear wavering in his voice. "Kill you? Now why on Earth would I do that for?" Geonja replied with confusion. The Fox's ears perked up with confusion and relaxed a little. "*sigh* Well, ya see, my parents, they were just killed by wolves a few minutes ago, I was stuck, hidden in the burrow, where my mom told me to stay, and I saw all of it, it was worse having to hear all of it too!" he said with sorrow and rage but, most of all, with regret. Geonja sat down beside the little fox, his Sea-Green eyes gazed at her with a bit of worry. "Tell me, do I smell different than the wolves that killed your family?" Geonja asked curiously. Stunned, the Fox sniffed Geonja's shoulder. "Ye-yes." the Fox stuttered. "Wait a sec, my mom told there were two different Tribes and that we lived near the Kanoen territory. Is that true?" the Fox looked up at Geonja with a small frown and his eyes filled with concern. "Yes, you smell a bit of that land, therefore, I'm sorry to say that the Kanoen killed your family." Geonja said with sympathy. The Fox hung his head and sadness was in his eyes. "My...my name is Alamere." the Fox said nervously. "Well hello there Alamere, my name's Geonja. I'm really sorry for your loss. I think destroying two families is past the limit for that Tribe. First they ruin my family, then your's." Geonja said with bitterness in her voice. "Huh? How did they destroy your family?" Alamere asked. "Well, my dad... he's Kanoen and my mom is from JoSinh. My dad caused the death of my only two siblings and himself when I was just a pup. And I just found out about this yesterday." Geonja said with agitation. Alamere looked up at Geonja, his beautiful sea-green eyes filled with sorrow. "I'm sorry to hear that." Alamere said softly and scuffled a pebble with his paws. The Fox and the Wolf rose up from the ground. Nightfall was almost upon the day, Geonja realized how long she had been gone from camp. "Hey, I've got an idea for where you can stay. If ya want." Geonja said friendly. "I... guess that's alright with me. Lead on Geonja." Alamere said, sure of his decision. Geonja led him to the roots of the tree and picked up the bunch of parsley and led Alamere to her Tribe.
Chapter 8: New Home, New Family
As Geonja and Alamere drew closer to JoSinh's Camp entrance, Alamere stopped and looked down shyly at his paws. Geonja stopped a few feet ahead and set the parsley down.
"Geonja, I'm gonna live in the JoSinh camp aren't I?"
Alamere asked, not taking his eyes away from his paws. Geonja walked to him and sat.
"If it's alright with Albanar and you. Is it okay with you?"
Geonja asked, tilting her head down to look at his face. Alamere nodded his head, as to say he was okay with it. The two carried on and walked into camp, only to be fussed over by Geonja's two friends.
"What took you so long? We began to worry!" Kanawoa flustered.
"Woah! Is that a light blue fox? Or am I just seeing things?" Jonisko beamed.
"That's kinda the reason why I'm so late."
Geonja responded calmly. Alamere hid behind Geonja's bushy tail, startled by the sudden appearances of Geonja's friends.
"Hey. It's alright. We aren't going to harm you. My name is Kanawoa, daughter of Albanar, JoSinh's tribe leader. It's a pleasure to meet you..."
Kanawoa spoke softly as she tilted her head down to look behind Geonja. Alamere peered from behind Geonja's tail,
"Hi, my... my name is Alamere." he said nervously.
"Hi! I'm Jonisko! Wanna be friends?" Jonisko said playfully.
"Sure." Alamere said, his confidence boosting.
"Umm Alamere, can you stay with Kanawoa, I need to speak to Albanar about your chance of living here." Geonja nudged him gently towards Kanawoa.
"Okay." Alamere fumbled to stand up. He walked towards Kanawoa. "How bout I show you around the Camp?" Kanawoa offered. Alamere nodded yes, the light blue fox and the black wolf walked off into the Camp.
Geonja walked swiftly towards Albanar's den.
"Albanar?" She peered into the dimly lit cave.
"Yes? What is it Geonja, is something wrong?" Albanar spoke softly as he slowly entered the Sun's ray of light.
"There's uh, been somewhat of a crisis." Geonja started.
"Let me guess, the Kanoen are tied into this?" Albanar craned his neck down inquisitively.
"Yes." She stated flatly. Albanar sighed and slowly sat down and grumbled something Geonja would rather not say aloud.
"Who was the victim?" He asked.
"It... Was a fox family. There were three, all but the youngest survived. Not only that but.... The young fox, his name is Alamere, he's special.... He's the Legendary Light Blue Fox." Geonja's voice was filled with emotion. Albanar was silent, astounded by the last fact, but sympathetic about the death of the fox parents. There was a long pause.
"....And I was wondering if he could find a home here?" Geonja asked politely. Albanar pondered this for a short moment and then spoke, "Of course, we'll arrange a sleeping quarter for him right away." He said reassuringly. Geonja sprang up with joy and nodded with gratitude and left his Den. Albanar followed, he wanted to welcome their new Tribe mate.
Chapter 9: Hello There
After Alamere was given a grand tour of the JoSinh Tribe Camp, he felt more at home. He smile, happy to find a new home. After a short moment, his smile faded and became a frown, his eyes were half closed as he looked down, remembering his deceased parents whom he loved and missed with all his heart. Kanawoa noticed this and her eyebrows scrunched up in concern and she gave a bit of a pout to herself and tried to think of something to cheer him up. She looked around trying to find something for the young fox to take his mind off of his sorrow. She spotted Jonisko, messing with a stick, clamping his jaws onto it and turning his head onto his shoulder and then quickly flung his head forward and threw the stick and raced to retrieve it. He kept repeating this over and over again. Faran, a cream and light brown elderly male wolf, chuckled at the spirited youth, and his method to pass the time. Kanawoa directed Alamere to follow her. Alamere, snapped out of his daze and rushed to catch up to her, curious on what they were going to do next. "Hey Jonisko! Mind if me and Alamere join you?" Kanawoa asked calmly. Jonisko, with the stick in his maw, wagged his tail excitedly. "Yush!" He muffled excitedly. After a few minutes of playing catch, the fox felt right at home and happy. Kanawoa noticed this and smiled, happy that Alamere was enjoying himself. Geonja scampered over to her friends, with Albanar walking calmly behind, holding a soft smile on his jaw. "Alamere, you get to stay! Isn't that awesome? Oh and this is Albanar, our Tribe Leader." Geonja said proudly. Albanar's broad shoulders shifted from his muscular yet retired body up and down from each paw step he took. "Hello young Alamere. I welcome you to home." He said strongly. Alamere shifted his paws nervously at the strong yet elderly wise wolf. "T thank you, thank you so much for letting me stay here." He said shyly. Albanar slightly tipped his head and left to check on the hunting and border patrols. There was a long silence. "Uh, hello? Are we still playin?" Jonisko drawled. Alamere sprung up from the very mention of 'play' and pranced about like a kit with a sugar rush. Geonja let out a small laugh and rolled her eyes. "I guess I'll throw and you guys race to be the first to catch." Geonja offered, really wanting to catch instead but would do the boring things for her friends to be happy. Her friends meant everything to her, without them, she'd be nothing, she'd feel lost and isolated. Kanawoa stepped forward. "Uh, I don't think so. You've been thinking about us and not even considering your own desires. I'll throw." Kanawoa spoke gently and yet demanding. Geonja hesitated and grabbed the stick and dropped it at Kanawoa's paws. "Alright....young Princess." Geonja teased. Kanawoa's fur fluffed up in annoyance and she rolled her eyes and grabbed the stick with maw. Kanawoa threw it about three or four meters away from her. (A meter is a full yard stick they use in school, so basically, it's three to four yardsticks in length). Jonisko and Alamere bolted from sitting and began sprinting, Alamere, though lacking in size and paw steps, was almost a foot ahead of Jonisko. Geonja on the other hand, was taking her time and allowed the two boys to show off and see which of them would get the stick first. Geonja slowed down into a short trot and smirked at how hilarious it was that Jonisko was loosing to a fox. Jonisko hightailed it and was almost past Alamere but, tripped on rabbit trap root in the ground, chest slamming down first, then neck and lastly his jaw. "Oof! Uuuugggh, ow." Was all Jonisko could muster to say. Before Kanawoa, Geonja and Alamere could check on him, Blaise, Jonisko's father and Tribe Healer, rushed to his son and began to puppy talk to him, checking his chest, then his paws for any twisted bones. "Daaad, I'm not a pup anymore. I pretty sure I'm fine." Jonisko, in a way, spoke too soon. He had indeed sprained his front left paw. "Come on, you're coming with me son. Oh and... No matter what, you'll always be my pup." Blaise retorted. "Will he be okay, Blaise?" Kanawoa asked the elder wolf. "Oh he'll be fine, he's a stubborn boy. It's not severe." Blaise said calmly. The cream colored wolf left, Jonisko leaning against him. Kanawoa, Geonja and Alamere stared off at their friend as he left.
Chapter 10: Future Healer
A few days had passed. By few, I mean five days. Jonisko's sprain was gone and he was back to his normal self. Kanawoa had been busy learning the ways of being a leader from her Father. Geonja had become somewhat distant from the Tribe Camp, reasons that were unknown to the others. Jonisko, after playing a bit with Alamere and saying goodbye, was walking back to Camp, for once, he had a serious gaze and his eyebrows furrowed, thinking hard.
'I've never really thought about what I wanna be. Kanawoa is the heir of the Tribe leader, Geonja is well, I don't know what she wants to be. But... What do I want to do?' He thought. Jonisko stopped and stared down at the ground, more confused. He glanced to his side and saw various medicinal plants, he scrunched his eyes as he looked at the plants, the sun shined on them. A yellow butterfly flew atop of Jonisko's nose. He froze and stared at the butterfly, in awe. It fluttered as if it was happy, Jonisko thought about how, in a way, he was similiar to butterflies, always so carefree, their uncoordinated flight pattern, as if it was giddy with joy and always happy. Just like him. It fluttered it's wings and flew over to the plants. The Sun shined even brighter before. Jonisko gasped, he felt a force deep in his soul, telling him that this was a sign from Hokulani herself. Jonisko bolted back to Camp, filled with excitement.
"Father! Father!" he beamed. Blaise rushed out from the Healing Den, confused about why his son was screaming.
"What is it my boy?" Blaise asked concerned, his eyes filled with worry. Jonisko realized how loud he was and lowered his ears in embarrassment. Jonisko scurried into the Healing Den, looking back, gesturing his father to follow him. Blaise followed.
"Father, I have a big question to ask." Jonisko started.
"Oh..... well, my son, when a male and female are in love... they well come together to-" Blaise said nervously. Jonisko's fur puffed out in embarrassment.
"No! Not that! Anything but that!" Jonisko freaked. Blaise looked at his son with a mixture of relief and confusion, glad that he wasn't giving his son 'the talk.' Jonisko calmed himself down and sighed with relief.
"Is it difficult to be a Healer?" Jonisko finally asked, breaking the silence. Blaise, pondered this question.
"You know son, I've never really thought about it like that. It's a great feeling, helping those in need but, every once in awhile there will be casualties. That is to be expected. I take pride in what I do. Why do you ask?" Blaise looked down at his son, curious. Jonisko reflected on is father's word, all he could think about was that this, was a great responsibility. His ears lowered, fear trying to overpower him.
"Father, I know what I wanna be now. But, I need you to teach me how. I want to be a Healer too." Jonisko finally said. Overcome with joy, Blaise sprung up, although elder, he still was fit, he howled with joy, startling his Tribe Mates.
"I'll do more than teach you my son! I'll guide you!" Blaise was so happy that his own son, his only family, wanting to carry on in his paw steps.
